Malcolm Kirk

Malcolm Kirk The photographer known for the seminal work Man as Art, published in 1981, was a collection of photographs taking in the mid 1960s while working with the anthropologist Andrew Strathern of aboriginal body art in Papua New Guinea. Malcolm’s website had not been indexed by Google, ever, it was off the grid. To make matters worse, there were 4 other Malcolm Kirks on the first page of Google. We built several WordPress sites populated with original content about Malcolm Kirk, launched a Flickr account as well as a JPG Magazine account. In the interim, we built a custom Java/php gallery, and worked closely with Malcolm’s wife, Bryce Birdsall, a retired art director, to craft and elegant solution. Malcolm site now comes up at the top of the first page of Google under his name.
